Dawley Wanderers Football Club (Visit this link)
Dawley Wanderers were formed in 1993 to give local boys the chance to play organized football. Under the guidance of founder member and Chairman Hugh Stanton the club grew rapidly and very soon boasted teams (sometimes 2) at every age group in the Telford Junior League. In fact Dawley became the biggest Junior Club in Shropshire, giving about 200 boys the chance of regular training and competitive football. Mr. Stanton through his connections organised trips to various UK destinations including the Butlins Tournament at Ayr. In 1995 the club travelled to The Hague in Holland and played a number of friendlies. This first trip to Holland proved very popular and the Junior section of the club are still visiting every other year. On one occasion nearly 200 players, staff, parents and friends travelled on 4 coaches. Several age groups became too old to play Junior football and moved into the Shropshire Minor League (Under 18). In 2001 the senior section was formed and under Mike Tart and Steve Jones they were elected to the Shropshire County Premier League - Division One. Despite the step up to adult football the players coped and have become an established County League Side. Kit Sponsors: Majorfax Limited. (Home and Away Kit) and Kingfisher Enamelling (3rd Kit).
